The ISIS terrorism situation in Russia.
Background to the ISIS group:
The Islamic State, formerly known as the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq, published a horrific video purportedly showing the chilling beheading of a U.S journalist James Foley, on Tuesday, calling it a message to America. The 50 000 strong Islamic Militant group threatened to do the same to yet another American Journalist by the name of Steven Sotloff who is currently in Syria, if the Obama administration does not meet its demands.
The extremists immediate goal was to use the shocking images to intimidate the Obama administration team into halting the United States Airstrikes on ISIS strongholds in Iraq. These airstrikes on ISIS strongholds seem to be impeding ISIS' ultimate objective: to maintain and expand it self declared caliphate. The extremists have already seized large parts of the Iraq and Syria countries, taking control of many town's main resources such as wheat and the oil fields. They previously had seized the largest dam in Iraq, and just a day after the United States and Iraqi forces successfully regained control of the Mosul Dam, Foley's beheading came.
President Obama has authorized targeted strikes by air around Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan two weeks ago when the militant group seized multiple towns around the main city and threatened the government to kill thousands of the Yazidi minority group. The airstrikes have actually made "important progress", but the work is not yet done, according to Obama in a press briefing on Monday. After the initial airstrike announcements, the Islamic State vowed retaliation for the said airstrikes, calling for sleep cell attacks on US interests worldwide through its multiple social media accounts.
Part of creating their caliphate, for ISIS, means eradicating everyone who doesn't adhere to their crazy rule of "convert or die." Although ISIS has still managed to execute hundreds in Iraq, the United States airstrikes have helped free many Kurds from death at the ISIS' hands. In Syria, ISIS has made hufe gainst in eradicating those which they call "infidels" this week. Since only last wednesday, the terrorist group has seized Turkman Bareh, Akhtarin, Dabiq, Al Masoudia and Al Ghouz in northern Steia which is close to Aleppo who is also deemed under threat. Meanwhile, the islamic State killed just over 700 members of the Al-Sheitaat tribe in eastern Syria on Saturday alone.
So far, the territory seized by ISIS is approximately the size of Belgium, but their plans to expand their caliphate doesn't end there. In early August, a map purportedly showing plans of ISIS wanting to conquer parts of Europe in the next five years was later debunked.
How does this reflect the theme of consuming ambition and link with the soliloquy?
The group ISIS is now seen as a terrorist group. Their consuming ambition to conquer all other religions and caliphates removes their sense of moral that all people are equal and all are entitled to decide their own what they want to do in their lives. They have a hunger to succeed in a way that people will in fact disagree with. In order to achieve their overall goal, they have gone against all odds and truly became terrorists to the world. Many want them dead and they have broken various laws.

'Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts completely.'
The Soliloquy is spoken by Lady Macbeth, who hopes to end Duncan, their kings rule and become the most powerful lady in the country. Likewise, ISIS seek to end the rule of all other religions and become practically the most powerful people in the world. Lady Macbeth's consuming ambition to be powerful and the Queen is what pushes her to break the law and therefore be regarded as a traitor and if caught, would be hung and heavily punished. Both of these groups are megalomaniacs. Likewise, ISIS' consuming ambition to rule the world with their made caliphate is what pushes them to kill thousands of people, be regarded as a terrorist group, and thus be unwelcomed by the entirety of the western and majority of their own countries. Lady Macbeth denies Duncan of any right that he has to be safe and remain the king that the people are rightfully happy with, and ISIS denies anybody the right to be safe and remain in their already spiritual belief and actually remain alive. The comparison between the two is that the two notable said people willingly become traitors and ‘terrorists’ in two very parallel yet likewise ways because of their consuming ambition to complete their goals.
